Robert Schmalz is the Founder and Principal Broker of West Los Angeles Real Estate Group.
For many years, he worked in the garment industry, manufacturing and selling to top retailers such as Gap, Anne Klein, and Abercrombie & Fitch. He built that business from the ground up, growing it to over $60 million in annual revenue before global pressures made manufacturing in the U.S. and Mexico unprofitable.
Robert has been involved in various aspects of real estate for more than 20 years, beginning with investments in shopping malls, multi-unit dwellings, and condominiums. About 12 years ago, he transitioned into residential real estate, earning his Broker’s License—which he has now held for approximately a decade—and soon after launched his boutique brokerage, West Los Angeles Real Estate Group.
A longtime resident of the Santa Monica and Brentwood areas, Robert has lived in West Los Angeles for more than 25 years. Together with his associates, he manages all aspects of real estate throughout Greater Los Angeles.
Robert’s commitment to his clients is matched only by his dedication to his family. He brings exceptional negotiating expertise—honed from years of negotiating “for pennies with Gap”—and a deep understanding of real estate to every transaction.
