With more than 70 percent of its original land area designated as parks and open space, Playa Vista has not only drawn international attention, but has also been praised as an urban model for Los Angeles. Playa Vista, located on the former site of Howard Hughes’ aircraft plant, runways and hangars, is an emerging mixed-use community where the live, work, shop and play philosophy is being integrated into people’s lives. Playa Vista offers the best of both worlds: Conveniences of city life mixed with the relaxed feel of a suburban setting.
Playa Vista property is located just East of Playa del Rey, South of Marina del Rey, Southwest of Culver City, and North of Westchester. It even has it’s own zip code ; Playa Vista, Ca. 90094

The brand new seven-acre park features a Little League baseball field, soccer field, two half basketball courts, two tennis courts, and a universally-accessible playground.
Designed by the internationally-recognized landscape architectural firm EDAW, the Sports Park also includes picnic areas and the first segment of a two-mile-long trail that parallels the Riparian Corridor, with exercise stations and a variety of viewpoints.
The Playa Vista Sports Park is truly state-of-the-art. For example, the synthetic turf at the John H. Henschel Soccer Field is made from polyethylene to prevent burn wounds caused by sliding. The Little League baseball field features "Tifsport" Bermuda grass turf specially selected for its ability to withstand heavy use. Of the two half basketball courts, one features an adjustable backboard that can be lowered for young children.
Each component of the park has been carefully laid out with the local community and environment in mind:

The hub of Playa Vista's residential community is The CenterPointe Club. The Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired 26,000 square-foot multi-purpose community center provides residents with social, recreation and cultural activities. It features two swimming pools, a huge outdoor sundeck, movie screening room, fitness facilities, business center, a boardroom and even a Resident Services Coordinator to assist you. As a homeowner in Playa Vista, you're automatically a member.

As soon as you enter Playa Vista you are drawn to the center, the town square, Concert Park! Enjoy movies or concerts under the stars in the Park or stroll the shops surrounding. Concert Park is just the beginning of the beautiful green areas of Playa Vista. They even have taken care of Fido, Longwood Park is a leash free area for your pet. Ultimately more than 750 acres—approximately 70 percent of the original Playa Vista Master Plan site—will be devoted to parks and open space. In all, twenty-three active community parks at Playa Vista of varying size will offer a broad range of recreational experiences, social interaction and cultural opportunities. These parks will be easily accessible throughout the community, and will be connected by a network of paths, sidewalks and nature trails.
